Filmmaker FAQ
Every question we get from filmmakers — answered honestly and in full.
Sign up for a filmmaker account, complete your profile, and use our submission portal to upload your film. We accept narrative features, documentaries, short films, and series. Your submission will be reviewed by our curatorial team within 2–4 weeks.
SubmissionWe accept ProRes 422 HQ or higher, H.264 (minimum 20Mbps for features), and DCP files. Audio should be at minimum 48kHz/24-bit stereo; 5.1 surround is preferred for features. Files should be uploaded via our secure portal — no streaming links.
SubmissionDuring our launch phase, there is no submission fee for filmmakers. We believe access to distribution should not be gated by upfront costs. We earn revenue through our viewer subscription model, not filmmaker fees.
SubmissionFilmmakers receive 70% of the pro-rated streaming revenue their film generates, calculated monthly based on hours watched. We provide transparent analytics dashboards so you can see exactly how your film is performing and how your earnings are calculated.
DistributionYes — you retain 100% ownership of your film. FylmTV operates as a licensing platform, not a rights acquisition service. You grant us a non-exclusive license to stream your film on our platform, which you can revoke with 30 days written notice.
Rights & ClearancesYes. We accept films that are available on other platforms — we believe in non-exclusive distribution. The exception is if your film is under an exclusive agreement with another streaming service. Always check your existing contracts before submitting.
Rights & ClearancesOur curatorial team reviews all submissions within 2–4 weeks. We'll notify you via email regardless of the decision and provide brief feedback on films we're unable to accept. If accepted, onboarding typically takes an additional 1–2 weeks.
SubmissionWe curate independent films across all genres — drama, documentary, horror, thriller, comedy, sci-fi, animation, and more. We look for films with a distinct voice, genuine craft, and something meaningful to say. Budget is irrelevant; great storytelling at any scale is welcome.
