Video on Demand (VOD) encompasses multiple digital distribution models: TVOD (Transactional VOD) where viewers pay per view or rental (iTunes, Amazon); SVOD (Subscription VOD) where viewers pay a monthly fee (Netflix, Hulu); AVOD (Ad-supported VOD) where viewing is free but ad-supported (Tubi, Pluto TV); and PVOD (Premium VOD) for early digital releases at a premium price. Royalty rates and revenue splits vary significantly by platform and deal structure.
